The Good Lab provides cannabis lab testing and analytic services for the cannabis community to ensure patients and other consumers have access to quality information about their products. Our Potency Profile, using High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), offers a comprehensive analysis of common therapeutic compounds found in marijuana.

cannabinoidsA Cannabinoid Potency Profile allows the consumer, whether medical or recreational, a better way of understanding the characteristics and overall quality of the product. While some consumers may want to alleviate pain, others may be looking to stimulate appetite or reduce seizures. And of course, there’s the consumer that wants the highest THC content for the biggest buzz. Whatever the demographic, the cannabinoid profile provides information to make an informed decision about the product being consumed.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is the most powerful method for measuring cannabinoid content in cannabis. Unlike Gas Chromatograpy (GC), HPLC doesn’t heat the sample prior to analysis, which prevents the acidic (non-active) cannabinoids from being decarboxylated into their active forms. Detecting the acidic cannabinoids (such as THC-A and CBD-A) is crucial for patients, particularly when it comes to edibles. It’s the only way to determine how well a product has been activated during the cooking process.
