Submit Samples

How to submit samples to The Good Lab

Step 1: New Account
Complete the New Account Information Form. If you’d prefer, you can print and complete it, then include it with your first sample. You only need to do this once.

Step 2: Packaging
Package your samples so they don’t smell, leak or spill. Be sure to write your name and the name of the sample on each one. A kraft paper bag is ideal for collecting, drying and mailing fresh samples. It must be clean.

Please DO NOT mail hemp directly from the field without drying it first. If it gets held up in the mail, it will mold by the time it arrives at the lab. Fresh hemp samples should be delivered directly to the lab. Time required to dry samples will delay test results and could incur additional charges.

Step 3: Chain of Custody
Complete and sign the Chain of Custody. You will need to include a Chain of Custody every time you submit samples.

Make sure the name of the sample is correct and legible. That’s the information what will go on the results report. If you’re sending an infused oil or tincture, please indicate what the primary liquid is (i.e. MCT, olive oil, VG, etc.) if you want us to calculate mg/ml.

Step 4: Shipping
Box up the samples, the Information Form (unless you’ve submitted it online) and the Chain of Custody, and send or deliver to:

The Good Lab
2501 W. Colorado Ave. Suite 200
Colorado Springs, CO 80904

It is illegal to knowingly ship marijuana through the mail. If you know your sample would qualify as marijuana, please deliver it personally to the lab.

US Mail (USPS) has established an official policy allowing mailing of hemp and CBD products. Please be sure to send Priority Mail with tracking and DO NOT require a signature so it can be left at the office next door if the lab is closed Email the tracking information to lab at goodlabcolorado@gmail.com so we can watch for your
samples to arrive.

United Parcel Service (UPS) policy allows for shipping of CBD products but does not allow shipment of hemp plants which may include dried plant material. FedEx does not allow for shipping of any hemp or CBD products, although we haven’t had any problems with shipments through FedEx or UPS.
